Splice Samples Make Your Mix Suck

If you're heavily relying on Splice samples for your drums, you might run into some mixing issues. These samples can have different levels of distortion and compression, some are already overprocessed and pushed to the limit, which can make your mix unbalanced and mess with the dynamics.

Instead, consider using cleaner, slightly saturated drum samples from classic drum machines as the foundation for your track. Then, you can sprinkle in some ear candy from sample packs. This way, your track will be more cohesive and easier to mix down. (you can always stick with one over compressed trash sample pack lol)

The rise of streaming bots is giving artists with label support a massive, fake boost in numbers, while others cash in on streaming white noise or even silence, but it also creates major problems for independent artists.

When artists and their teams employ fake streams, it creates a false sense of accomplishment and damages their reputation. Sure, you could set up a click farm in India for a fast buck, however, you'd be breaking Spotify's rules and risking a ban or even losing your account. In a world where checking "monthly listeners" and follower counts is easier than ever, it's tough for genuine artists to stand out with real numbers. But remember, fake streams can only fool people for so long – bots won't show up to your gigs! And promoters will stop calling.

In the end, making real music and building a loyal fanbase always wins. Clout-chasing fans will ditch you as soon as the next trend hits, and they're not real fans of you as an artist. True fans will go through the hassle of arranging a babysitter, getting an Uber, buying tickets, and convincing friends to join them at your gig – that's what I call dedication.
